The #7/7 UT Dallas women’s golf team is one shot off the lead after the first round of the Linda Lowery Invitational at Teravista Golf Club Monday.

The Comets shot a 317 (+29) and trail host Concordia Texas, who shot a 316 (+27). One shot behind in third place is #18/20 Mary Hardin-Baylor with a 318 (+30) in the eight-team field.

Sophomore Danielle Dimafelix shot her career low round with a 77 (+5) and is in fourth place. She led all players with 13 pars in the first round. Dimafelix is two strokes off the co-leaders of Avery Hill from UMHB and Emma Luna of St. Thomas (Texas).

Sophomore Sofia Trevino made three birdies and is tied for fifth with a 78 (+6). Karen Alvarez and Maddy Vilven each shot an 81 (+9) and are tied for 13th.

The final round of the tournament will be on Tuesday.
