Enrollment Analysis: African American students comprised 25.4% of Winfree Academy Charter Schools District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 293 African American students enrolled in Winfree Academy Charter Schools District in the 2022-23 school year, 8.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Winfree Academy Charter Schools District welcomed 1,153 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 25.4% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Winfree Academy Charter Schools District roughly covers schools within Dallas County and has a main office in Carrollton.

Among the six schools in Winfree Academy Charter Schools District, Winfree Academy Charter School Dallas recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 130 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
