Winfree Academy Charter Schools welcomed 1,153 students in 2022-23 school year

There were 1,153 students enrolled in Winfree Academy Charter Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 6.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 54.1% of them were boys, and 45.9% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 51.2% of the Winfree Academy Charter Schools total enrollment.

Winfree Academy Charter Schools roughly covers schools within Dallas County with its main office in Carrollton.

Among the six schools in Winfree Academy Charter Schools, Winfree Academy North Richland Hills recorded the highest enrollment of 247 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
