There were 18 Asian students enrolled in Winfree Academy Charter Schools District in the 2021-22 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Winfree Academy Charter Schools District welcomed 1,080 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 1.7% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Winfree Academy Charter Schools District roughly covers schools within Dallas County and has a main office in Carrollton.

Among the six schools in Winfree Academy Charter Schools District, Winfree Academy Charter School (Richardson) recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of five students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
