Addison Hosts Consuls from Mexico, Belize, Japan, and Canada

On Tuesday, March 21, Mayor Joe Chow and City Manager David Gaines, along with Economic Development and Airport staff, hosted Consul Francisco de la Torre of Mexico, Consul Edwin Tench of Belize, Consul Sam Shichijo of Japan, and Consul Duane Robson of Canada at Addison Airport. During the luncheon, the foreign dignitaries were provided a brief economic update on Addison and its Airport. The focus of the event was to ensure that Addison remains top of mind for potential foreign investors and that general aviation travelers from these countries choose Addison Airport as their entry into North Texas. The local officer from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection office provided a tour of their new facilities at Addison Airport and walked them through the process of welcoming overseas flights to North Texas. The group found the meeting and tour very helpful and were better able to understand how Addison Airport can be an option for general aviation users from their respective countries.
