21

Richardson’s Assistant City Manager of Administrative and Leisure Services Shanna Sims-Bradish is ending a nearly decade-long career with the City of Richardson effective June 30, 2022. Her departure comes as she has accepted a position as Assistant City Manager of the City of University Park, giving her a leadership role over many of that city’s departments and services.

Sims-Bradish joined the City of Richardson in December 2012. In her role with Richardson, Sims-Bradish has administrative responsibilities for the Health Department, Parks and Recreation Department, Human Resources Department and the Richardson Public Library. She is also the City’s cultural arts liaison and supervises the Eisemann Center staff, Community Services staff, and is responsible for coordination of the City budget.

"Shanna has touched many lives and has left her mark on many programs in this community,” said Richardson City Manager Don Magner. “We will miss her leadership and planning abilities, and we wish her all the best as she begins her new role in University Park.”

Sims-Bradish’s role with the City of University Park will place her as the sole assistant city manager. She will begin her service there July 5, 2022. Sims-Bradish is a member and credentialed manager of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), completed the ICMA Emerging Leaders Graduate program in 2008 and was a member of the Awards Evaluation Committee for ICMA from 2015-2021. She is also a graduate of Leadership Metrocrest (1999) and Leadership Richardson Class XXIX.

Succession Planning

City Manager Don Magner has appointed Bill Alsup, current Director of Health, Interim Assistant City Manager.  Alsup will assume Sims-Bradish’s responsibilities effective July 1, 2022.  Plans to fill the assistant city manager position will be announced in the near future.
