COVID-19 Testing Site in Garland to Reopen at Noon Friday, Jan. 21

City of Garland issued the following announcement on Jan. 14

The Centers for Disease Control in coordination with the Department of Health and Human Services will reopen a drive-thru COVID-19 testing location at noon Friday, Jan. 21, at Johnson Stadium, 1029 E. Centerville Road in Garland.

Preregistration is required for anyone being tested. No walk-up or drive-up testing will be offered. Register at https://ineedacovid19test.com/Garland_TX_14603.html, by calling 800-635-8611 or by scanning the QR code provided.

Officials closed the facility early Thursday, Jan. 20, due to extreme cold temperatures and are working to reschedule missed tests as soon as possible.

The site is offering only the PCR test, not the rapid test. It is anticipated that test results will be ready within 24 to 36 hours.

The site is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Garland Public Health Clinic, 206 Carver Drive, is offering flu shots and COVID-19 vaccine and boosters from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Garland Public Health Clinic does NOT offer COVID-19 testing.
