Garland High School issued the following announcement on Oct. 5.
October 5th is a Student and Staff Holiday for all of Garland ISD.
October 6th - October 9th is Intersession Week for all of Garland ISD.
If you are not currently scheduled for an intersession course OR failing a 9th or 10th grade core subject...you do not have any classes scheduled from October 5th until October 12th!!!
On October 12th, GHS will begin our Second Cycle of Face-to-Face and Remote Learning.
Please check your Canvas Course for an announcement with details on your Intersession Course.
- Doors will open at 7:15am at the main entrance (above the vestibule) and the commons entrance. Masks will continue to be required.
- Breakfast served at 7:30am, Sessions begin at 8am and go until 11am, Lunch is served from 11am – 11:30am. Dismissal is at 11:30am
- Students who are assigned to TSI-A or LAS Links MUST attend face-to-face to complete the required testing.
- Students who are assigned to PSAT Prep will be added to a remote instruction Canvas course. Within that course will be the instructions and links to join their google meets. For students who are able to join and go through with synchronous class time, they will do that. For students who cannot join, they will be able to progress through the lessons and activities in the course, but will not have the live meet. There will be an attendance form for each session. All GHS PSAT students will be assigned to Math for Session 1: 8:00 am – 9:15 am, and Verbal for Session 2: 9:45 am – 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 6th through Friday, October 9th.
- All other sessions will be held face-to-face and remote instruction. Students cannot attend sessions face to face unless they are coded as face to face instruction (except testing mentioned above).
- If a student has brought their grade up to passing in any assigned Grade Recovery course, the student no longer needs to attend.
- If a student is now failing a course which is being offered as Grade Recovery, PLEASE encourage them to attend either remote or face to face.
- Students must be logged into their Garland ISD account to access this Google Site (after Monday, October 5th).
