The Homeowners Association for Canyon Creek has donated thousands of dollars for food and resources to Network of Community Ministries.

According to Community Impact Newspaper, Warren Caldwell, the HOA president for the neighborhood, said they wanted to assist the organization in any way they could.

“We are our brother’s keeper, and those of us in position to help, should help,” he said.

The Canyon Creek HOA gave $7,500 in cash for donations, sold 500 Richardson Strong signs, and donated 14,000 pounds of food after hosting a food drive on April 18. Caldwell said he was impressed with the turn out by residents of the 2,850-home HOA, making it the largest in Richardson.

“It was constant traffic. We were amazed,” he told Community Impact. “People are reaching out and helping, and it’s a beautiful thing.”

The HOA held a second food drive on May 2.

“We’re just going to do our very level best to build awareness of the need," Caldwell said. "We are going to use our communication tools as a force multiplier.”
