RICHARDSON – OMG Tacos will ban for life anyone who makes comments it deems to be rude or racial in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.

The restaurant, which the Fort Worth Star Telegram described as, "a Southern California-style fusion taqueria," posted the warning recently on social media.

The announcement was in response to at least two incidents in which customers asked employees whether they were infected with the novel coronavirus. One employee was identified as Latino, and the other was identified as Asian-American.

A Tweet from the restaurant's official account said several customers had made remarks to staff.

In one instance, the customer made it clear he was asking due to the perceived race of those the employee works for.

"If you are racist, ignorant, aggressive, or threatening toward our staff in any way, we will absolutely refuse to serve you," the post stated.

Holly Nguyen of OMG said that the incidents did not occur at the Fort Worth location.
