The 19 Ministries, a nonprofit organization based in Rowlett, started the We Appreciate You enterprise in 2019 as a "thank you" move to honor the city workers for their altruism and endless dedication.
Landon Huie, director of 19 Ministries, said in a statement that the city values its workers for their dedication and selflessness.
“They work all year round, so hard, their commitment is laudable," said Hule. "This initiative is carried out in their honor and to show our appreciation for them."
19 Ministries is a nonprofit organization that works to bind people of Rowlett with churches and businesses. The organization was founded in 2018 and aims to spread throughout Texas to bring churches, people and businesses together, starting from Rowlett.
Under the We Appreciate You initiative, the city workers will be provided with free lunch from March 30 to April 3. Over 400 city workers including police officers, government workers and firefighters will be sent a lunch ticket via email which will deem them eligible to receive their free lunch at McAllister’s.
