Mayor Honors Garland Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association

The Garland Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association was presented with a proclamation by Mayor Scott LeMay recognizing its 30 years of service at the Garland City Council’s March 7 meeting.

The Mayor’s proclamation highlighted the association’s volunteerism and dedication to the Garland Police Department and community.

“They are a nonprofit organization and we appreciate how much time and energy they give to us and the community,” said Garland Police Officer Felicia Jones, who works closely with the association.

The GCPAAA has been awarded numerous times by the Texas Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association for Alumni Association of the Year and Alumni Membership of the Year.

Started in 1993, the GCPAAA will celebrate its 30th anniversary Monday, March 13.
