The nursing home offered 264 beds, exceeding the average number of available beds in Dallas County by 132 during the same quarter. Throughout Q1 2026, Golden Acres served an average of 173 residents.
The facility earned a 2 out of 5 overall rating from CMS, which is below the Texas nursing home average rating of 2.7.
During the quarter, Five Points at Lake Highlands Nursing and Rehab and Richardson Nursing and Rehabilitation led Dallas County in size with 280 beds each.
Golden Acres Living and Rehabilitation Center recorded no fines or penalties in the first quarter of 2026.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate the nation’s older adult population is rising as the number of younger individuals declines. From 2020 to 2024, the population of Americans age 65 and older grew by 13%, while people under 18 decreased by 1.7%. Over the past century, the country’s older population expanded greatly, from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million in 2024.
A 2021 study reports that close to half of the older adult population, around 28 million, will likely require long-term services and support. The report also estimates that more than a third may eventually need care in a nursing home.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
