Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’ 24th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues related to border security and energy policy in a series of posts on May 19, 2026.
On border security, Van Duyne stated on her official account: “When Washington fails to secure the border, states like Texas have every right to step up and defend their citizens. Every member of the Texas GOP Caucus is backing H.Res.50 – because Texans should never again have to bear the consequences of a federal government that refuses” (May 19, 2026).
Later that day, she commented on national energy priorities: “American energy dominance is critical for the national and economic security of our country as well as our allies! I’m so grateful to be working with an Administration who understands American Freedom Fuel is the game changer the world needs for stable and growing markets.” (May 19, 2026).
In another post from May 19, Van Duyne added: “We didn’t need new law – all we needed was an administration willing to enforce the ones we already had.”
Van Duyne has served in Congress since replacing Kenny Marchant in 2021 and currently resides in Irving. She was born in Ithaca, New York in 1970. In recent election cycles, she won re-election by defeating Sam Eppler in 2024 with over sixty percent of the vote and Jan McDowell in 2022 by a similar margin.
