Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, representing Texas’s 24th congressional district, shared updates on social media between January 8 and January 9, 2026, covering topics ranging from student achievements to law enforcement and government spending.
On January 8, Van Duyne highlighted a local student’s accomplishment in a national competition: ” Highlighting our @CongressionalAC third place winner Amrita Madhavanur at Greenhill School. Her app TeenShare helps users identify and protect sensitive personal information before posting online using smart detection, risk scoring, and masking tools to prevent oversharing.”
The following day, she voiced support for law enforcement with a statement quoting South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem: “If you lay a finger on one of our officers, we will catch you, we will prosecute you, and you will feel the full extent of the law.” @Sec_Noem This is what America First leadership looks like! God bless the brave @ICEgov agents!” (January 9).
Later that day, Van Duyne addressed government expenditures by promoting new legislation: “I got a bill for that! The Government Offices Realignment and Closure Act (GORAC Act) will cut this wasteful and fraudulent spending. Read more here: https://t.co/rOtgP6ICsW” (January 9).
Beth Van Duyne has held her seat since winning the general election against Candace Valenzuela in 2020. She was re-elected in subsequent cycles—defeating Jan McDowell in 2022 with nearly 60% of the vote and Sam Eppler in 2024 with over 60% support.
