Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’ 24th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on her legislative activities and meetings through a series of posts on her official Twitter account.
On May 14, 2026, Van Duyne highlighted a discussion with Johann Steiner, President of Outokumpu, a major stainless steel producer. She stated: “Great meeting with Johann Steiner, President of @Outokumpu, they are the second largest stainless steel producer in the Americas. We discussed my work as a member of the @WaysandMeansGOP Trade Subcommittee to support efforts that protect domestic manufacturing and our supply”.
The following day, May 15, she commented on an appearance by Vice President Vance and expressed support for current federal leadership: “Must watch from @VP Vance!! Thankful we have an administration that is putting Americans first each and everyday.”
Later on May 15, Van Duyne announced progress in congressional appropriations procedures: “Today we are returning to regular order in advancing individual appropriations bills – @HouseGOP just passed important legislation that strengthens military readiness, supports infrastructure critical to America’s national defense, and delivers for veterans and military families.”
Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th District since replacing Kenny Marchant in 2021. She was born in Ithaca, New York in 1970 and currently resides in Irving. Her electoral history includes victories over Sam Eppler in 2024 with 60.3% of the vote, Jan McDowell in 2022 with nearly 60%, and Candace Valenzuela in a close race in 2020.
