Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, representing Texas’ 24th congressional district, posted a series of statements on October 17, 2025, highlighting concerns about threats faced by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and criticizing Democratic policies.
In her first post, Van Duyne recounted a recent visit to an ICE facility in Dallas, stating, “I was at the Dallas ICE facility last week and met brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day. Now we learn terrorists are using TikTok to call for attacks on ICE agents. Evil keeps finding new ways—pray for those who serve and protect. “ (October 17, 2025).
She followed this with a separate post containing only a link: “https://t.co/5Eb6BKNBOK” (October 17, 2025).
Later the same day, Van Duyne posted a criticism of the Democratic Party, stating, “Democrats continue to put Americans last.” (October 17, 2025).
Van Duyne has represented Texas’ 24th district since winning a close race in 2020 against Candace Valenzuela, and has since secured re-election in both 2022 and 2024, defeating Jan McDowell and Sam Eppler, respectively. In her most recent election, she won with over 60% of the vote.
Her comments come amid ongoing national debates about border security, immigration enforcement, and the use of social media platforms by extremist groups.
