Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, representing Texas’s 24th congressional district, posted a series of messages on her official X account in mid-October 2025 addressing issues ranging from youth civic engagement to federal government operations and partisan disagreements.

On October 15, Van Duyne encouraged high school students in her district to participate in an upcoming event: “We are just 2 days away from the deadline for high school students in #TX24 to apply for the 2025-2026 Congressional Youth Advisory Summit! This is a great opportunity for students to engage with our North Texas community, develop their leadership skills, and learn more about https://t.co/Oxgtec1cmL”.

Later that same day, she criticized Democratic lawmakers regarding actions affecting military paychecks. In her post dated October 15, Van Duyne wrote: “Time and time again, Democrats put Americans last. Now, they are challenging President Trump’s actions to make sure that the brave men and women who serve our country get their paycheck. Absolutely disgraceful. https://t.co/LryRLkrDF3”.

The following day, on October 16, Van Duyne commented on Senate proceedings related to government funding: “Senate Democrats just refused to re-open our government, voting for the tenth time to hold the American people and our federal government hostage. Once again, choosing illegal immigrants over the American people.”

Van Duyne has held her seat since first winning election in 2020 against Candace Valenzuela by a narrow margin. She subsequently secured re-election victories over Jan McDowell in 2022 and Sam Eppler in 2024 by wider margins of approximately 60% of the vote each time.
