Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’ 24th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on local events and her views through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) during early May 2026.

On May 6, Van Duyne promoted an upcoming public service event for North Texans preparing for summer travel. She posted, “Planning summer travel? This is a great opportunity to get your passport sorted before the rush! The Dallas Passport Agency is hosting a Passport Application Acceptance Event! Saturday, May 9, 2026 9:00am – 12:00pm Dallas Passport Agency For more information, view the https://t.co/pIvyYVBIo0” (May 6, 2026).

Later that day, she highlighted economic discussions in North Texas related to an international sporting event. In her post she stated, “This week, we kicked off National Small Business Week in North Texas with a @HouseSmallBiz roundtable hosted by me and @RepRWilliams to talk about what the FIFA World Cup coming to Dallas this summer means for our local entrepreneurs. 9 matches, millions of global visitors, and https://t.co/0WonNXGjuo” (May 6, 2026).

On May 7, Van Duyne commented on leadership and university culture referencing her alma mater. She wrote: “Standing firm against intimidation, calling out unlawful behavior, and refusing to cave to mob tactics is what leadership looks like. Encouraging to see — and a reminder of why I’m proud to be a @Cornell graduate and hopeful the university is getting back to its roots and core https://t.co/qwYSk2iGG0” (May 7, 2026).

Van Duyne has served as the congressional representative for Texas’s 24th District since replacing Kenny Marchant in January 2021. Born in Ithaca, New York in 1970 and currently residing in Irving at age 52, she has maintained her seat through several election cycles—including victories over Sam Eppler in the most recent general election with approximately sixty percent of the vote.
