Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne marked the anniversary of Japan’s surrender in World War II, highlighted public safety efforts in Texas, and shared updates on local employment initiatives through a series of posts on September 2, 2025.
In her first post commemorating the end of World War II, Van Duyne wrote: “80 years ago today, Japan surrendered, bringing World War II to an end. On this anniversary, and every day, we honor the Greatest Generation who sacrificed so much for the peace and freedom for generations to come.” (September 2, 2025)
Later that day, she praised the Texas Department of Public Safety for their ongoing efforts to maintain security. Van Duyne stated: “That’s putting in the work @TxDPS. Keep taking them down @LtChrisOlivarez and keep the Lone Star safe!” (September 2, 2025)
Van Duyne also provided an update on employment initiatives within her district. She posted: “August was a busy month in Texas-24! We hosted our 4th North Texas Job Fair, where 35,000 job seekers were able to connect with over 500 employers from across the area! We sat down with small businesses to talk about the benefits of the One Big Beautiful Bill, visited employers” (September 2, 2025)
Beth Van Duyne represents Texas’ 24th congressional district. In recent election cycles, she has consistently secured her seat by defeating opponents Sam Eppler in 2024 with approximately 60% of the vote, Jan McDowell in 2022 with nearly the same margin, and Candace Valenzuela in a close race in 2020.
