Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th Congressional District, recently posted a series of statements on her official social media account addressing veterans’ recognition, foreign policy, and the release of hostages.
On October 12, 2025, Van Duyne encouraged nominations for the 2025 Congressional Veteran Commendation, stating: “We are still accepting applications for our 2025 Congressional Veteran Commendation. This award is a chance for us to honor our veterans in #TX24 and thank them for their service to our great nation. Nominations are open until October 17th – learn more and submit on my website https://t.co/GXMdPvS9fU”.
Later that day, Van Duyne commented on former President Donald Trump’s foreign policy record. She wrote: “President Trump is the Peace President. EIGHT peace treaties across the world in just nine months, completely unheard of, and no other President has accomplished such a feat in my lifetime. It’s because of his strength, his bold actions to obliterate the Iranian nuclear weapons https://t.co/E5ZGzp0c1f”.
On October 13, 2025, Van Duyne credited Trump for securing the release of hostages held by Hamas, while criticizing Democratic leaders. She posted: “Thanks to President Trump’s strength and leadership, the last remaining living hostages were freed from Hamas terrorists. Meanwhile, Chuck Schumer and extremist Democrats refuse to release the federal government from captivity. Quite the contrast.”
Beth Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th district since her initial victory in 2020, when she narrowly defeated Candace Valenzuela. She has since secured re-election twice, defeating Jan McDowell in 2022 and Sam Eppler in 2024 by wider margins.
