Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne has recently addressed several national issues on her social media, including the effects of a government shutdown, drug cartel violence, and legislative efforts targeting domestic terrorism.

On October 5, 2025, Van Duyne posted about the consequences of a government shutdown. She stated: “Here are some immediate impacts of the Democrat shutdown and the pain Democrats are causing the American people:   • 1.3 million active duty troops will now be working without pay • Nearly 50,000 members of the U.S. Coast Guard will not be paid • Over 13,000 air traffic”.

Later that day, she called for stronger action against drug cartels in another post dated October 5, 2025: “I have long called for direct military action against drug cartels. Now we finally have a President who recognizes them for what they are: terrorists. We must stop them before more Americans lose their lives to the drugs they traffic and the brutal violence they bring to our”.

On October 6, 2025, Van Duyne promoted legislative action with her support for new law enforcement measures. She wrote: “Pass the Stop FUNDERs Act, introduced by @SenTedCruz and I, to help federal prosecutors with expanded RICO charges to dismantle these domestic terrorist networks! @laralogan, please help us build momentum in Congress for this vital piece of new law enforcement that”.

Beth Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th congressional district since winning her first election in 2020. She secured re-election in both 2022 and 2024; most recently defeating Sam Eppler with over sixty percent of the vote in 2024. In prior contests she prevailed over Jan McDowell in 2022 and Candace Valenzuela in 2020.
