Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, representing Texas’s 24th district, posted a series of updates on October 17, 2025, highlighting local law enforcement recognitions, federal actions regarding military pay and social programs, and new legislative efforts related to the U.S. Census.

In her first post at 20:15 UTC, Van Duyne recognized local police officers for their service and recent promotions. She wrote: “Our #TX24 Hometown Heroes this week are the men and women who serve the Irving Police Department. Congratulations to Senior Communications Officer Sias, Sergeant Jones, and Officers Lemarie, Williams, Johnson, Seaton, and Reyes on their well-earned promotions, and welcome to https://t.co/yHItbMAQYT”.

Later that evening at 21:50 UTC, Van Duyne commented on federal measures affecting military personnel and recipients of the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. She stated: “Thankfully, President Trump is taking measures to ensure the brave men and women of our military are getting paid this week and that the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program is not being interrupted – despite the Democrats’ political games. https://t.co/1efnqh0qTU”.

At 22:45 UTC on the same day, Van Duyne announced new legislation aimed at addressing issues with census data collection. She said: “This week I introduced the One Citizen, One Seat act to correct the errors in the 2020 U.S. Census and ensure our nation is provided an accurate census count that reflects the number of U.S. citizens in each state. She subsequently secured re-election in both 2022 against Jan McDowell with nearly sixty percent of the vote and again in 2024 against Sam Eppler with a similar margin.
