Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th congressional district, shared updates this week on job opportunities in North Texas, local government cooperation with federal immigration authorities, and political representation issues.
On August 9, 2025, Van Duyne highlighted the scale of a recent employment event: “This week, we connected tens of thousands of job seekers with more than 35,000 career opportunities from over 500 employers at the 2025 North Texas Job Fair.”
Later that day, she commended Keller city officials for partnering with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), referencing her own experience as a former mayor: “Major props to Mayor Armin Mizani and the City of Keller for doing the right thing and formalizing a relationship with ICE! It worked great for Irving when I was Mayor! “ This comment follows ongoing debates about local-federal cooperation on immigration enforcement in Texas municipalities.
In another post on August 9, Van Duyne addressed partisan dynamics in congressional representation. She shared a message thanking another official for drawing attention to political suppression: “Good compilation of Dem states and how they’ve ruthlessly suppressed Republican representation in Congress. Thank you @DavidSpillerTX for reminding everyone!”
Van Duyne has maintained her seat through several election cycles. In 2024, she defeated Sam Eppler by securing over 60% of the vote; in previous elections she also won against Jan McDowell (2022) and Candace Valenzuela (2020).
