Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress, announced on her social media accounts this week that she introduced new legislation aimed at protecting seniors from fraud and strengthening Medicare oversight.

On May 23, 2026, Van Duyne wrote: “This week, I introduced the Protecting Seniors and Stopping Fraudsters Act, and with bipartisan support from my Ways and Means colleagues, the bill has passed out of committee and is headed to the House floor. This legislation strengthens Medicare oversight, cracks down on bad”.

Shortly after her initial announcement, Van Duyne posted a follow-up message providing more information about the bill: “Read more about the Protecting Seniors and Stopping Fraudsters Act: https://t.co/Nbkfv2AlWQ” (May 23, 2026).

Later that day, Van Duyne highlighted her engagement with stakeholders in Washington. She posted: “It’s always a pleasure to connect with @TXFBinsurance during their National Affairs Awards week in Washington! We discussed the new doors opening for American beef exports thanks to the U.S.-China trade agreement to restore market access, the real relief delivered through” (May 23, 2026).

Beth Van Duyne has served as a member of Congress representing Texas’s 24th District since replacing Kenny Marchant in 2021. She was born in Ithaca, New York in 1970 and currently resides in Irving at age 52. In recent election cycles, Van Duyne won reelection by defeating Sam Eppler in 2024 with approximately 60% of the vote and Jan McDowell in 2022 with nearly the same margin. Her first congressional victory came in 2020 against Candace Valenzuela.
