Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’ 24th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted local achievements and meetings in a series of posts on May 22, 2026.
On that day, Van Duyne recognized a community leader in her district, posting: “This week’s #TX24 Hometown Hero is C.J. Alexander, the new Fire Chief of the Addison Fire Department. He is stepping into this role with over two decades of fire and EMS experience and a strong commitment to serving North Texas. Congratulations, Chief Alexander!” (May 22, 2026).
Later, she shared about her engagement with students from a local university: “Always enjoy meeting with the @UT_Dallas McDermott Scholars during their annual Washington, D.C. trip! It was great to hear from the group as they get ready to go into their sophomore year this fall. During their visit we discussed how Ways and Means Committee hearings work and” (May 22, 2026).
In another post that same day, Van Duyne noted an update from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport leadership: “Great to see @DFWAirport CEO Chris McLaughlin while he was in Washington to testify before @HomelandGOP. He stopped by the office to share updates on the infrastructure projects underway at the airport.” (May 22, 2026).
Beth Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th District since 2021 after succeeding Kenny Marchant. She resides in Irving and was born in Ithaca, New York in 1970. In recent election cycles she won against Sam Eppler in 2024 by securing over sixty percent of the vote; she also prevailed over Jan McDowell in 2022 and Candace Valenzuela in 2020.
