On May 15, Van Duyne recognized a notable academic from her district: “This week’s Hometown Hero is Dr. Chandramallika Basak, a UT Dallas neuroscientist using video games and brain training to fight dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.”
Later that day, she discussed regional infrastructure with an industry representative. On May 15, she wrote: “Great to connect with Connor, the North Texas manager for @AGCofTexas, to discuss the importance of infrastructure investment as North Texas continues to grow.”
In another post from the same date, Van Duyne acknowledged a leading company based in her district: “Texas-24 is home to many great companies serving as leaders in their fields, like @StandardAero. They are a leader in aviation maintenance and repair for both commercial and military jet engines. I recently had a chance to visit their facility at DFW, I previously visited in”
Beth Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th District since 2021 after succeeding Kenny Marchant.[Source] She was born in Ithaca, New York in 1970 and currently resides in Irving.[Source] Her recent electoral victories include defeating Sam Eppler in 2024 with over 60% of the vote; previous wins were against Jan McDowell in 2022 and Candace Valenzuela in 2020.
