Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne highlighted local initiatives and legislative actions in a series of posts on her social media account this week. Her tweets covered topics ranging from animal therapy efforts in Texas to recent developments in national defense legislation.

On September 12, 2025, Van Duyne drew attention to a unique sanctuary in Southlake, Texas: “Jules Peterson has spent the past 8 years building Loving Long Ears Donkey Therapy & Sanctuary in Southlake. Loving Long Ears is one of only four donkey rescues in the U.S. and the only one with a therapy mission.”

The following day, she addressed her role in supporting defense policy: “This week, I joined my House colleagues in voting for the passage of the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act, that further delivers Peace through Strength. This bill fully funds border security, supports American manufactures, and secures pay raises for our service members.” The National Defense Authorization Act is an annual piece of legislation that outlines budgetary and policy priorities for U.S. defense operations.

Later on September 13, Van Duyne shared her experience at a housing industry event: “While at the Innovative Housing Showcase this week, I was able to visit an exhibitor based in North Texas, Fornidos, they manufacture lumber and light gauge steel components for houses. It was great to see that a North Texas based innovator was being recognized on the National”

Beth Van Duyne has represented her district since winning election victories over Sam Eppler in 2024 by a margin of approximately 60% to 40%, Jan McDowell in 2022 with nearly 60% of the vote, and Candace Valenzuela in 2020 by just over one percentage point.
