Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th congressional district, shared updates on social media over the weekend about local events and initiatives, including support for Southern Methodist University football, a meeting with a community leader, and a reminder for participants in her reading program.

On August 30, 2025, Van Duyne encouraged support for the local college football team by posting: “Join me in cheering on our @SMUFB Mustangs as they kickoff their season today, ranked number 16!  Pony Up!!”

Later that same day, she highlighted her engagement with regional nonprofit leaders. In a post made at 23:05 UTC, Van Duyne wrote: “It was great to meet with Sharla Myers, CEO of the Community Council of Greater Dallas, to discuss their important work across North Texas. The Community Council is committed to making a real difference for families in need.”

The following day, on August 31, she issued a reminder related to her educational outreach efforts: “Reminder: if you had a K-8 student participating in Beth’s Bookworms, their book log is due today! We look forward to celebrating with these students in the Fall! Submit Book Logs here:”

Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th district since first winning election in 2020. She secured reelection victories against Candace Valenzuela in 2020 (winning by less than two percentage points), Jan McDowell in 2022 (with nearly 60% of the vote), and Sam Eppler in 2024 (receiving just over 60% of ballots cast).
