Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, representing Texas’ 24th congressional district, shared a series of posts on October 4, 2025, addressing community recognition, legislative priorities, and ongoing debates in Congress.

In a post recognizing local efforts, Van Duyne wrote on October 4: “Angie Manriquez is this week’s Hometown Hero. For over two decades, she has led efforts to rescue and care for neglected animals in Dallas. Thank you, Angie for your lasting impact on our community.”

Later the same day, Van Duyne highlighted her legislative focus regarding commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) for foreign nationals. She stated: “Van Duyne to Newsmax: Bill Would Make It Harder for Foreign Natls to Get CDLs”.

Addressing recent developments in congressional negotiations over government funding, Van Duyne criticized Democratic lawmakers’ approach to temporary spending bills. On October 4 she posted: “Democrats demanded that Congress pass clean temporary spending bills, and that’s what we did to keep the government operating. But now, Democrats refuse to vote for a clean, temporary spending bill, because THEY WANT the government shutdown. Rank, purposefully destructive”.

Van Duyne has held her seat since first winning election in 2020 against Candace Valenzuela with 48.8% of the vote to Valenzuela’s 47.5%. She was re-elected in subsequent cycles—defeating Jan McDowell in 2022 with nearly 60% of the vote and Sam Eppler in 2024 with just over 60%.
