Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th congressional district, shared a series of updates on her official social media account this week highlighting local recognition, legislative efforts, and support for law enforcement.

On August 29, Van Duyne honored a local police officer in her district by posting: “This week’s #TX24 Hometown Hero is Detective John Haecker, a lifelong Texan and North Texas native. We thank Detective Haecker for his decades of service and for keeping our community safe!”

Later that evening, she announced the introduction of new bipartisan legislation aimed at supporting seniors’ healthcare needs. In her words: “This week, I introduced the Preserving Patient Access to Long-Term Care Pharmacies Act. It is a bipartisan bill that seeks to fix a critical issue, protecting seniors’ access to the safe, reliable medications and pharmacy services they depend on in nursing homes and assisted” (posted August 29).

In another post on August 30, Van Duyne expressed encouragement to Tom Homan regarding ongoing efforts related to law enforcement activities: “Great news, keep up the good work @RealTomHoman! Let’s find them all!”

Beth Van Duyne has served as the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 24th congressional district since 2021. She secured reelection in 2024 by defeating Sam Eppler with over 60% of the vote and previously won elections against Jan McDowell in 2022 and Candace Valenzuela in 2020.
