Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’ 24th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted local achievements and organizations in a series of posts on her social media accounts this week.
On May 8, Van Duyne shared a link to additional information, writing “Read more here: https://t.co/KEIRj8f0Ut”.
Later that day, she recognized the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders as part of her #TX24 Hometown Heroes initiative. In her post dated May 8, she stated, “This week’s #TX24 Hometown Heroes are the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders, a volunteer organization dedicated to honoring fallen military members, veterans, and first responders. Through their flag lines and presence at funeral services, they provide comfort and respect to https://t.co/qmzsi8Lt3i”.
On May 9, Van Duyne congratulated participants in an art competition from her district. She wrote: “Congratulations to our 2026 Art Competition winners!! Thank you to all who participated. It was an honor to recognize the hard work of our #TX24 artists at our reception this week. Another huge thank you to the local artists who served as our judges this year! Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th District since replacing Kenny Marchant in 2021 and has been re-elected multiple times since then. She won her most recent election in 2024 against Sam Eppler with over 60% of the vote. Previously, she defeated Jan McDowell in 2022 and Candace Valenzuela in a close race in 2020. Born in Ithaca, New York in 1970, Van Duyne currently resides in Irving.
