Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th congressional district, recently highlighted local achievements and community events in a series of posts on her official X account.
On January 9, 2026, Van Duyne recognized a local student for her accomplishments. She wrote, “Our #TX24 Hometown Hero is Aliza Tharani of Euless! A Colleyville Heritage High School alumna and Johns Hopkins University student, she has been recognized for her academic achievement and service to our community.”
The following day, on January 10, Van Duyne acknowledged the advocacy work of Riley Gaines. In her post she stated, “Always great to see @Riley_Gaines_! She is courageously leading the fight to preserve the integrity of girls’ sports.”
Later that same day, Van Duyne shared remarks about an event at the Capitol celebrating Korean American Day. She posted, “Korean American Day was held at the Capitol this week. I enjoyed speaking with everyone in attendance about the tremendous relationship between Korea and the U.S., and also how valuable Korean businesses have been as trading partners and manufacturing developers in our great”.
Beth Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th congressional district since first winning election in 2020. In that year’s general election she defeated Candace Valenzuela by a narrow margin. She retained her seat in subsequent elections: defeating Jan McDowell in 2022 and Sam Eppler in 2024 with increasing margins of victory.
