Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’ 24th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on her social media account addressing legislative actions on Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding and recent tax relief measures.

On April 13, 2026, Van Duyne stated, “The House has done our job – we’ve sent over bills four times that would FULLY fund DHS. Four times. The men and women of @ICEgov and @CBP are protecting our country, and they deserve to be paid. The Senate needs to get this done.” This post highlighted her support for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), urging the Senate to act on funding legislation.

Later the same day, she commented on tax policy as Tax Day approached: “We are just 2 days away from Tax Day – hardworking Americans are already feeling the difference thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts. Bigger paychecks, larger refunds, and more money staying where it belongs, in your pocket.”

On April 14, 2026, Van Duyne reported positive news for taxpayers: “Good news for taxpayers, refunds are nearly 11% higher than last year! That’s real relief for American families thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts delivering no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and enhanced child tax credits.”

Beth Van Duyne has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Kenny Marchant. She was born in Ithaca, New York in 1970 and currently resides in Irving at age 52. In recent election cycles, she won re-election by notable margins: defeating Sam Eppler in 2024 with 60.3% of the vote; Jan McDowell in 2022 with 59.7%; and Candace Valenzuela in a close race in 2020 with 48.8%.
