Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne shared updates on legislative efforts, a major drug interdiction operation, and a tragedy in Minneapolis through a series of posts on August 27, 2025.

On August 27, Van Duyne highlighted the actions of the U.S. Coast Guard: “Yesterday, the U.S. Coast Guard completed one of the largest drug busts in history, preventing about 23 million potentially lethal doses from entering the United States.” The congresswoman provided a link for further information regarding this operation.

Later that day, she addressed an incident in Minnesota: “Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected by the awful tragedy in Minneapolis. Please keep the students and their families in your prayers.”

In another post on August 27, Van Duyne announced new bipartisan legislation: “I introduced the Preserving Patient Access to Long-Term Care Pharmacies Act with @RepSchneider, @RepBuddyCarter, @RepDavids, and @RepDeborahRoss. This bipartisan legislation aims to protect access to essential medications and pharmacy services for seniors and other long-term”

Beth Van Duyne has represented her district since winning her first election in 2020 against Candace Valenzuela. She secured re-election victories over Jan McDowell in 2022 and Sam Eppler in 2024.
