On August 16, 2025, Van Duyne commented on border security under the Trump administration. She wrote, “Encounters at our Southwest border have plummeted since President @realDonaldTrump has taken office. All we needed was a new President to secure the border and enforce the many laws we already have on the books!”
Later that day, she announced the opening of applications for a local veterans’ recognition program. In her post dated August 16, 2025, Van Duyne stated, “Applications for the 2025 Congressional Veteran Commendation are now OPEN! On August 17, 2025, Van Duyne highlighted an action by former President Trump related to Social Security and immigration enforcement. She wrote, “ICYMI: President Trump announced that 275,000 illegal immigrants have been removed from Social Security, directly protecting benefits for American seniors.”
Beth Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th district since first winning election in 2020. She secured re-election in subsequent cycles—defeating Candace Valenzuela in a close race in 2020 with 48.8% of the vote to Valenzuela’s 47.5%, winning again in 2022 against Jan McDowell with nearly 60% of the vote, and most recently prevailing over Sam Eppler in the 2024 general election with over 60% support.
