Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th district in the U.S. Congress, expressed support for recent federal and state initiatives in a series of tweets posted on May 8, 2026.
In one post published at 00:40 UTC, Van Duyne wrote: “Thankful to have an administration that is putting Americans first!! Great work by @VP Vance and his task force to eliminate fraud.”
Later that day, at 17:47 UTC, she addressed border security spending in Texas and voiced her backing for a resolution concerning states’ rights. She stated: “Texas spent $11 billion during Operation Lone Star defending its own border because the Biden admin refused to do its job. I’m glad to stand with @RepArrington and my Texas colleagues on this resolution affirming that states have the constitutional right to repel a border”.

Beth Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th District since replacing Kenny Marchant in 2021. She was born in Ithaca, New York in 1970 and currently resides in Irving. In previous elections, she defeated Sam Eppler in 2024 with over 60% of the vote, Jan McDowell in 2022 with nearly the same margin, and Candace Valenzuela in a close race in 2020.
Operation Lone Star is an ongoing initiative launched by Texas officials focused on border enforcement efforts after state leaders criticized federal immigration policies.
