Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’ 24th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on her official Twitter account about meetings and events focused on international relations and support for small businesses.
On May 17, Van Duyne posted about a diplomatic meeting: “I recently had the chance to meet Dr. SOK Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions and Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. They gave me updates on how Cambodia is implementing a Reciprocal Trade Agreement with the United States.” This post highlighted ongoing trade discussions between Cambodia and the United States.
Later that day, she referenced an event aimed at supporting entrepreneurship: “This week, @HouseSmallBiz hosted the 3rd Annual Small Business Showcase! We kicked things off with remarks from @SBA_Kelly and @SpeakerJohnson, before I had the chance to share a few words about my work on the Committee and why supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs”. The showcase featured remarks from Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly and Speaker Johnson.
On May 18, Van Duyne wrote about strengthening foreign alliances: “Recently, I was able to catch up with @NORPACofficial, and we had the opportunity to discuss how we can continue to strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship.”
Van Duyne has served as representative for Texas’s 24th District since 2021 after replacing Kenny Marchant. She won reelection campaigns in both 2022 against Jan McDowell (with nearly 60% of votes) and in 2024 against Sam Eppler (over 60%). Born in Ithaca, New York in 1970, Van Duyne currently resides in Irving.
