Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives, shared updates on tax policy, veteran recognition efforts, and the state’s energy sector through a series of posts on August 19, 2025.

In her first post, Van Duyne highlighted upcoming tax cuts associated with new legislation. On August 19, she wrote: “In 2026, thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill, on average Americans will get an estimated $3,752 in tax cuts and Texans will get an estimated $3,942.”

Later that day, Van Duyne announced a partnership to honor Vietnam War veterans. She stated: “I have partnered with the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration to honor the brave men and women who served during the Vietnam War. As a token of our gratitude, eligible veterans will receive a Commemorative Lapel Pin recognizing their service and sacrifice.” The post invited eligible veterans to participate in this recognition effort.

In her final post of the day, Van Duyne discussed Texas’s role in global energy markets. She quoted TXOGA President Todd Staples: “Texas is delivering the Freedom Fuel the world needs! TXOGA President Todd Staples noted, ‘Forecasts for lower prices can slow industry growth plans. However, with approximately 8 billion cubic feet per day of new LNG export capacity under development in Texas and multiple'”

Beth Van Duyne has represented her district since 2020 after defeating Candace Valenzuela by a narrow margin. She secured reelection in both 2022 against Jan McDowell and again in 2024 against Sam Eppler by wider margins each time.
