A day later, she expressed appreciation for Small Business Administration Associate Administrator Lisa Shimkat’s participation in a local employment event. That same evening, Van Duyne acknowledged veteran service organizations involved in supporting former military personnel at a regional job fair. Beth Van Duyne has served as U.S. Representative after securing victories in several recent elections; she won against Sam Eppler in 2024 by a margin of roughly 20 percentage points (227 votes or 60.3% compared to Eppler’s 149 votes or 39.7%). Previously, she defeated Jan McDowell in 2022 (177 votes or 59.7% versus McDowell’s 119 votes or 40.3%), and Candace Valenzuela in a closely contested race in 2020 (167 votes or 48.8% against Valenzuela’s 163 votes or 47.5%).
