Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’ 24th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on legislative efforts and personal reflections through a series of posts on April 16, 2026.

On Tax Day, Van Duyne highlighted bipartisan cooperation with Rep. Terri Sewell regarding financial legislation. She wrote, “Had a great Tax Day discussion at @ICI! @RepTerriSewell and I were able to talk about our GROWTH Act – commonsense bipartisan legislation that ends the annual taxation of reinvested mutual fund capital gain distributions.” (April 16, 2026).

Later that day, Van Duyne expressed condolences for the loss of Dr. Robert Cluck, recalling his mentorship during her tenure as Mayor of Irving. She stated, “Sad to hear of the passing of my friend, Dr. Robert Cluck. When I was first elected Mayor of Irving alongside the new mayors of Dallas and Fort Worth, Robert—already serving Arlington—took us under his wing and showed us the ropes.

He believed deeply in working together as a” (April 16, 2026).

In another post later that evening, Van Duyne referenced congressional oversight related to health care policy: “Today, @SecKennedy testified in front of @WaysandMeansGOP on the work that he is doing with the Trump Administration to improve the health of Americans across the country.

In 2024, I questioned then-Secretary Becerra in this very spot about the rampant hospice fraud in Los”
(April 16, 2026).

Beth Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th District since replacing Kenny Marchant in Congress in 2021. She resides in Irving and was born in Ithaca, New York in 1970 at age 52. In recent elections for her seat she has consistently secured victories over Democratic challengers: defeating Sam Eppler with over sixty percent of votes cast in 2024; Jan McDowell by a similar margin in 2022; and Candace Valenzuela by a narrow margin in her initial run for Congress in 2020.
