Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of statements on social media between October 19 and 20, 2025, addressing issues related to immigration enforcement and ongoing government funding negotiations.

On October 19, Van Duyne expressed appreciation for federal authorities’ actions in Dallas: “Thankful for the swift action of @DHSgov for getting this dangerous criminal illegal alien off our streets in Dallas. Calling for violence against ICE agents is pure evil and absolutely will not be tolerated.”

The following day, she commented on congressional funding debates: “We have seen the Democrats vote for clean continuing resolutions 13 times. What changed? The fact that President Trump is in the White House. Democrats are playing games with the American people and once again, putting Americans last.” In another post later that day, Van Duyne wrote: “Enough is enough, Democrats have inflicted enough pain on the American people. They have held our government hostage for 20 days. House Republicans did our job over a month ago, it is time the Senate Democrats stop playing political games and vote to reopen our government.”

Beth Van Duyne has held her seat since first winning election in 2020. She was re-elected in subsequent cycles, defeating Candace Valenzuela in 2020 by a narrow margin and securing more decisive victories over Jan McDowell in 2022 and Sam Eppler in 2024.
