Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’ 24th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of messages on her official Twitter account addressing election integrity, the Department of Homeland Security shutdown, and religious observances.
On April 2, 2026, Van Duyne expressed concerns regarding election security and voter identification laws. She stated: “The most important person to a D.C. Democrat right now is an illegal immigrant… Over 80% of Americans want to see Voter ID and ensure only American citizens are voting in federal elections so we have far stronger election integrity. The solution is simple: pass the SAVE https://t.co/cEPciMfhbW”.
In another post dated April 3, 2026, she highlighted her appearance on a national radio show discussing current legislative frustrations. She wrote: “Great conversation yesterday with @guypbenson on the @GuyBensonShow. We discussed our shared frustrations during the ongoing DHS shutdown – listen to the episode below https://t.co/6lszrzM10d”.
Later that same day, Van Duyne addressed her constituents directly with a message for Good Friday: “On this Good Friday, I am wishing everyone in TX-24 a blessed day of reflection as we prepare for Easter Sunday.”
Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th District since replacing Kenny Marchant in 2021 and has won several recent elections; she secured victories against Sam Eppler in 2024 (60.3% to 39.7%), Jan McDowell in 2022 (59.7% to 40.3%), and Candace Valenzuela in 2020 (48.8% to 47.5%). Born in Ithaca, New York in 1970 and currently residing in Irving at age 52, Van Duyne continues her legislative career focused on issues such as voter identification requirements and government operations.
