Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne posted a series of tweets on March 11 and 12, 2026, addressing issues related to TSA absences, immigration policy, and her participation in a student event.
On March 11, Van Duyne wrote, “TSA absences have DOUBLED due to the Senate Democrats refusing to fund DHS. It is only going to get worse the longer they drag this on. Time to fund @DHSgov and pay our TSA agents.” She attributed increased Transportation Security Administration absences to delayed funding for the Department of Homeland Security by Senate Democrats.
Later that day, she posted another statement regarding immigration and political motives: “Democrats have made it very clear, they want as many illegal immigrants here as possible because they boost population counts in their districts for census purposes. They don’t care about the harm being done to Americans across our country – they only care about power.”
On March 12, Van Duyne thanked a local organization for hosting her at an educational event: “Thank you to the @DallasBarAssoc for having me this morning to talk to a group of students alongside State Senator Nathan Johnson.”
Beth Van Duyne has represented her district through several election cycles. In 2024, she defeated Sam Eppler with over 60% of the vote. She also won elections against Jan McDowell in 2022 and Candace Valenzuela in 2020.
