Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne marked the anniversary of significant events and commented on current political issues in a series of posts on October 7, 2025. Van Duyne, who has secured her seat in Congress through multiple election victories, addressed topics ranging from international terrorism to domestic policy disputes.

In a post commemorating the second anniversary of the October 7th terrorist attacks, Van Duyne wrote, “Today marks the second anniversary of the horrific terrorist attacks of October 7th. We remember the innocent men, women, and children murdered at the hands of the Hamas terrorists, and continue to pray for the safe return of the hostages they still hold in captivity.” (October 7, 2025).

Later that day, she responded to media inquiries regarding National Guard deployments: “I was asked by reporters what I thought about the Texas National Guard deploying to help ICE in Chicago and Portland. The Texas National Guard deployed to secure the Texas border with Mexico during the disastrous years of Biden’s Open Border policies. They are used to dealing” (October 7, 2025).

Van Duyne also criticized Democratic lawmakers over small business lending disruptions: “Democrats are directly hurting American small businesses. Now, because the Democrats are holding the government hostage, no new @SBAgov lending is being approved – that’s 300 small businesses every week who won’t have access to capital, nearly $200 million dollars a week that” (October 7, 2025).

Beth Van Duyne has represented her district since winning a close race against Candace Valenzuela in 2020. She subsequently defeated Jan McDowell in 2022 and Sam Eppler in 2024 with increasing margins each cycle.
