Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th congressional district, recently addressed a range of issues on her social media account, including criticism of nonprofit organizations, suicide prevention resources, and economic indicators.

On September 9, 2025, Van Duyne made allegations regarding the management of crime and homelessness initiatives. She stated: “The crime and homeless industrial complexes Democrats have set up with NGOs and ‘nonprofits’ aren’t designed to solve problems. Rather, they are fraudulent entities which exist to launder taxpayer dollars to enrich themselves, their friends, and further radical, pro-criminal”.

The following day, September 10, she highlighted mental health resources during Suicide Prevention Month. In her post she wrote: “September is Suicide Prevention Month. If you or anyone you know is struggling, call or text 988, or visit https://t.co/ShgFVtNz53. Trained professionals are available to help day and night. The Veterans Crisis Line can be reached by dialing 988 and then pressing 1.”

Later that same day on September 10, Van Duyne commented on recent economic data: “Yet again, we are seeing that economists’ expectations were wrong, as wholesale inflation fell in August. 2.6% on the year compared to the expected 3.3%.”

Van Duyne has represented Texas’s 24th district since winning the seat in a close race in 2020 against Candace Valenzuela (48.8% to 47.5%). She subsequently secured re-election in both 2022 against Jan McDowell (59.7% to 40.3%) and in 2024 against Sam Eppler (60.3% to 39.7%).
