Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th congressional district, recently addressed several issues on her social media account, including hospice fraud, trade legislation, and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
On January 18, 2026, Van Duyne posted about ongoing concerns regarding hospice fraud and government oversight. She stated, “I wish that I could say I’m surprised. I raised my concerns about this very issue in 2023 to then-HHS Secretary Becerra, and the Biden administration’s failure to respond allowed hospice fraud and abuse to persist. We must root out hospice fraud and ensure the most vulnerable” (January 18, 2026).
Later that day, she discussed her legislative efforts at a recent briefing focused on trade enforcement. Van Duyne wrote, “This week, I was able to talk about my bill, the Leveling the Playing Field 2.0 Act at a Trade Enforcement Briefing, where attendees heard from panelists from the steel industry. This legislation will allow American workers to compete on a more level playing field by cracking” (January 18, 2026).
On January 19, she reflected on Martin Luther King Jr.’s influence during America’s semiquincentennial year: “The time is always right to do what is right.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In America’s 250th year, we honor Martin Luther King, Jr. – a true pioneer whose courage shaped our nation’s history and whose legacy will continue to guide our country.” (January 19, 2026).
Beth Van Duyne has served as a U.S. Representative since winning her first election in 2020 against Candace Valenzuela with just under half of the vote. She secured re-election in both subsequent cycles—defeating Jan McDowell in 2022 with nearly sixty percent of the vote and Sam Eppler in 2024 with over sixty percent—solidifying her position within Texas politics.
