Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne posted a series of messages on October 1, 2025, addressing topics ranging from healthcare funding and government shutdowns to religious observances.
In her first post at 15:17 UTC, Van Duyne questioned Democratic policies on healthcare for undocumented immigrants, stating, “Tell me again how democrats don’t fund healthcare for illegals…”
Later the same day at 21:39 UTC, she commented on recent government shutdown discussions. She wrote, “Republicans didn’t want a shutdown. The President didn’t want a shutdown. Americans didn’t want a shutdown. Yet, Senate and House Democrats did. Just further proof they are out of touch with the American people.”
In her final post of the day at 23:40 UTC, Van Duyne offered well wishes to those observing Yom Kippur, stating, “Wishing all who observe a meaningful and blessed Yom Kippur. G’mar Chatimah Tovah!”
Beth Van Duyne has served as a U.S. Representative since 2021. In recent elections, she secured victories over Sam Eppler in 2024 with approximately 60% of the vote, Jan McDowell in 2022 with nearly the same margin, and Candace Valenzuela in 2020 by a narrower margin.
