Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’ 24th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of topics on her official Twitter account, including healthcare fraud, community celebrations, and legislative action on unemployment fraud.
On May 29, 2026, Van Duyne posted about fraudulent billing practices affecting vulnerable populations. She wrote: “They steal their personal information to make it appear as though those sick and needy and elderly are, in fact, their patients and then they bill the taxpayer for services that they do not render to those patients.” She continued in the same post, “This is absolutely despicable – I have long been fighting to”.
On May 30, 2026, Van Duyne highlighted local festivities marking America’s upcoming 250th birthday. She shared: “North Texas is celebrating America’s 250th birthday! Team Van Duyne had the chance to drop by the Gaylord in Grapevine to see some of the All-American SummerFest festivities – including this incredible 8-foot Mount Rushmore sand sculpture! If you’re in Grapevine, swing by and”.
Later that day, she discussed legislative efforts targeting pandemic-related financial misconduct. On May 30, 2026, she stated: “I introduced the Recover COVID Unemployment Fraud in Banks Act to recover hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars lost to COVID-19 unemployment fraud. This bipartisan legislation has been marked up by the Ways and Means Committee and now can be considered by the full House.”
Beth Van Duyne has served as a member of Congress since replacing Kenny Marchant in 2021. Born in Ithaca, New York in 1970 and currently residing in Irving at age 52, she has won several recent elections for her seat—including victories over Sam Eppler in 2024 with approximately 60% of the vote; Jan McDowell in 2022 with nearly as large a margin; and Candace Valenzuela in a close race during her first campaign for Congress.
