Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, who represents Texas’s 24th congressional district, posted a series of statements on her social media account between November 10 and 11, 2025. The posts address the ongoing government shutdown, express gratitude to veterans, and highlight recent recognition of military service members in her district.
On November 10, Van Duyne commented on the duration and impact of the current federal shutdown: “We’re now on day 41 of the Democrat Shutdown that never should have happened. Washington Democrats chose to endanger flight safety for millions of Americans. Hopefully, this will now come to an end as a few Democrat Senators finally sided with the American people over their” (November 10, 2025).
The following day, she acknowledged Veterans Day by posting: “Happy Veterans Day Thank you to every brave man and woman who has served our country, today and every day we celebrate your service and the sacrifices you have made to protect our freedoms.” (November 11, 2025).
Later on November 11, Van Duyne highlighted a local event recognizing veterans: “It was a privilege to honor our Congressional Veteran Commendation recipients and Vietnam-era veterans last week! I presented 14 commendations and 8 Vietnam lapel pins to these heroes in Texas-24. Our community is stronger because of their service, courage, and continued” (November 11, 2025).
Beth Van Duyne has held her seat since winning a close race against Candace Valenzuela in 2020. She subsequently secured re-election in both 2022—defeating Jan McDowell—and again in 2024 against Sam Eppler. In each election cycle since her first victory in Texas’s competitive district, she has increased her margin of victory.
